Abstract
The influence of oral or intravenous administration of A 1-hydrocortisone on plasma 17-OHCS concentrations was compared with 17-OHCS concentrations following hydrocortisone administration. With comparable oral doses [DELTA] 1-hydrocortisone produced 17-OHCS elevations of greater magnitude and longer duration than did hydrocortisone. Also, the half-life of the [DELTA]-1 steroid was longer than that of hydrocortisone. Keywords
