Abstract
Streptococcus hansenii, Streptococcus morbillorum, and Streptococcus pleomorphus were characterized by performing a comparative analysis of their 16S ribosomal ribonucleic acids and by determining their deoxyribonucleic acid base compositions and peptidoglycan types. None of these anaerobic streptococci is closely related to streptococci, or lactococci. S. hansenii and S. pleomorphus are more closely related to certain clostridia, whereas Gemella haemolysans is the closest known relative of S. morbillorum. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
