Abstract
Chromium oxide and lignin excretion rates of three experimental animals have been studied. The previous finding that one fecal sample is inadequate for the determination of digestibility has been confirmed. Significant diurnal variations in the rate of chromium oxide and lignin excretion occur in dairy cattle. The character of the diurnal variation has been described. An improved sampling plan for ratio technique digestibility determinations has been proposed. Keywords
