Renormalization Group Analysis of October Market Crashes

  • 30 October 1997
Abstract
An approach is suggested for analyzing time series by means of the algebraic self-similar renormalization group. An analogy is established between the October 1929, October 1987, and October 1997 stock market crashes. It is shown that the suggested approach describes well all these crashes.
