Abstract
In a prospective autopsy study of male subjects with solid malignant neoplasms, 6 had metastatic deposits within the testis (2.5%). These were metastases from carcinoma of the prostate (2 cases), melanoma (2 cases), bronchial carcinoma (1 case) and pleural mesothelioma (1 case). In addition, 4 of 29 leukemic patients and 6 of 28 with non-Hodgkin''s lymphoma showed testicular involvement. The metastases from the solid tumors presented in solitary nodules, as multiple nodules or as a diffuse involvement. Microscopically, these were represented by tumor cells within the interstitial tissue without involvement of the seminiferous tubules; interstitial tissue and tubular involvement and tumor were confined to the seminiferous tubules, respectively. Keywords
