DETERMINATION OF REDUCTANT-SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE IN SOILS

Abstract
Reductant-soluble phosphate in soils in dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate extract can be determined by treating with FeCl3 and NaOH to oxidize the excess of dithionite and to precipitate the citrate prior to the development of the blue color with chloromolybdic acid and SnC12. Three soils were used to demonstrate the accuracy of the method.
