(S)‐2‐Chloropropanoyl chloride. A convenient reagent for the determination of the enantiomeric composition of α‐substituted α‐hydroxy acids

Abstract
(S)‐2‐Chloropropanoyl chloride reacts cleanly with α‐substituted α‐hydroxy acids (or esters) to give O‐acyl derivatives, which can be used for the establishment of optical purities of the acids or their esters.
