Abstract
Three cases of sporadic goiter of the newborn are presented. In one case the mother had received Lugol''s solution and pro-pylthiouracil during pregnancy, in the second potassium iodide. and in the third no unusual drugs or goitrogenic substances. All three infants had goiters at birth and respiratory distress, with possible hyperthyroidism in one infant. One infant was treated by thyroidectomy, the second by O2 alone and the third received Lugol''s solution and propylthiouracil. Keywords
