Abstract
An attempt is made to test experimentally the Voth and Mayman hypothesis that autokinesis is mediated by an attention-distribution mechanism. Experimental manipulations of attention distribution failed to yield significant effects upon autokinetic perception. The tentativeness of the Voth and Mayman model of autokinesis is emphasized. Keywords
