Southern Hemisphere Meteor Rates

Abstract
Complete results are given of a one year controlled-parameter survey of meteor activity in the southern hemisphere. These results should provide a basis for the comparison and evaluation of future results and correlation with other phenomena. Superimposed on an otherwise smooth annual variation, two discrete concentrations of activity have been found. In each case the maximum hourly rate, which exceeded 200 per hour, took approximately two months to build up to a peak and decay.
