A combination of stainless steel coil and compressed Ivalon: a new technique for embolization of large arteries and arteriovenous fistulas.

Abstract
The abdominal aortas in 8 dogs were successfully occluded with a combination of stainless steel coils and compressed Ivalon (polyvinyl alcohol). There was no evidence of recanalization up to 6 mo. later. This combination is useful for the embolization of large arteries and arteriovenous fistulas.
