Abstract
Ten variables were found to differentiate between recidivists and nonrecidivists. A computer program selected four variables which were found to be significant predictors when combined to form a prediction equation. These were: mother's age, age at first court appearance, number of times in discipline cottage, and whether the student was paroled to school or work. It Is suggested that further research Is needed to discover other variables which may significantly Increase the predictive ability. Caution Is expressed In that the predictive equation method Is only as good as the judgment of the Individuals who utilize the method. Keywords
