Effect of Methylphenidate on Cardiovascular Actions of Pressor Amines

Abstract
Methylphenidate, 15 mg/kg intravenously, alters the pressor responses in the anesthetized dog to a series of phenylalkylamines. The amines affected by this central nervous system stimulant are influenced in such a way as to fall into 3 structurally distinct categories which are augmented or not significantly affected; reversibly blocked; or irreversibly blocked.
