Abstract
Paramagnetic neutron scattering from the localized, metallic ferromagnet MnSn is characterized for the entire range of energy and momentum (ω,Q) space for a temperature range between (193 K) and room temperature. The scattering function S(Q,ω) can be well described by a simple double Lorentzian form S(Q,ω)∝T[1/(+) ] /[( +] where, for larger q, the dependence in both Lorentzian factors changes over to a more general functional form. These results are in marked contrast to the case of the cubic, insulating ferromagnet EuO. This study reinforces our current interpretation of the constant-energy ridges which have also been observed in Ni.
