Paramagnetic scattering from a cubic ferromagnetPd2MnSn

Abstract
Paramagnetic neutron scattering from the localized, metallic ferromagnet Pd2MnSn is characterized for the entire range of energy and momentum (ω,Q) space for a temperature range between Tc (193 K) and room temperature. The scattering function S(Q,ω) can be well described by a simple double Lorentzian form S(Q,ω)∝T[1/(κ12+q2) ]Λ1 q2/[(Λ1 q2 )2 +ω2] where, for larger q, the q2 dependence in both Lorentzian factors changes over to a more general functional form. These results are in marked contrast to the case of the cubic, insulating ferromagnet EuO. This study reinforces our current interpretation of the constant-energy ridges which have also been observed in Ni.
