Abstract
TRH and TSH levels in plasma were increased and TSH responsiveness to TRH was enhanced by adrenalectomy. T4 and T3 levels in plasma were increased after adrenalectomy, but rT3 levels in plasma did not change. Findings suggested that adrenalectomy might affect the multiple sites of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis in rats, causing changes in secretion or degradation of TRH, TSH and thyroid hormones.
