Abstract
A new effect concerning precession of motion of flux spots and of superconducting-normal interface has been observed in indium with the magnetooptic technique. The direction of precession reverses when the field direction is reversed. An explanation proposed independently by Pippard and Faber is based on the Hall effect. Other macroscopic features pertaining to the dynamic effects and to the steady-state patterns in the intermediate state are similar to those seen in other type I superconductors when k, the Ginzburg–Landau parameter, is small (e.g. Al, Sn).Keywords
