On the hydrolysis of niobium(V) and tantalum(V) in 3 mol dm–3KCl at 25 °C. Part 1. Construction of a thermodynamic model for NbV

Abstract
The hydrolysis of NbV in 3.0 mol dm–3 KCl has been studied by potentiometric measurement of the H3O+ ion concentration with a glass electrode. The results have been treated both graphically and numerically, and show that the hydrolysis process can be considered to be homonuclear. A comparison has been made with other data in the literature and a hydrolysis model for NbV proposed using the modified Bromley theory.
