Abstract
An attempt has been made to evaluate the attitude of children with diabetes mellitus toward diabetes and its treatment. This was done by the use of a planned interview. The findings suggest that boys and girls with diabetes may consider their disorder as a normal part of their lives, and that they do not comprehend the seriousness of this disorder. The patients interviewed did not feel diabetes or its treatment interfered significantly with their usual day-to-day activities. There was no indication that the presence of diabetes affected adversely their occupational, educational or marital goals. Keywords
