Abstract
Experimental results of sulfur line shape variations observed from various metal–sulfur compounds (Cu5FeS4, Cu2S, FeS) show that Auger fine structure analysis is able to separate chemical states of sulfur. Atomic sulfur presents a single Auger line at 149 eV whereas sulfur in the S2− oxidation state is characterized by a peak at 147 eV.Keywords
