Abstract
Decays of pseudoscalar mesons are studied by paying attention to the property that |ψV(0)|2 is proportional to MV2, where MV is the mass of vector meson and ψV(0) is the origin value of wave function for the vector meson. It is shown that (i) the data for the π0→2γ, η→2γ and η′→2γ processes can be explained well and (ii) for the heavy pseudoscalar mesons, Γ(ηQ→2γ)/eQ4 is roughly the same, of the order of 30 keV, for the ηc, ηb and ηt. By making use of the above result, the hadronic decay width of the ηQ is estimated at about 5 MeV. The ηb mass is discussed on the basis of the decay width for Υ→γηb, and some predictions for decays of pseudoscalar and vector mesons in the t-t system are made. Keywords
