Abstract
The last two decades have witnessed an astonishing series of technological changes which have succeeded each other with bewildering rapidity. The changes have involved the medium used for endoscopy, the method of illuminating the interior the medium used for endoscopy, the method of illuminating the interior of the bladder and urethra, the design of the telescopes, and the range and complexity of the accessory instruments, especially those used for teaching. It is a matter of some pride that the most important of these changes—those involving the method of illumination and the design of the telescope and the teaching attachments, have resulted from the genius of one Englishman, Professor Harold Hopkins. Keywords
