Abstract
The temperature dependence of the intensity of photostimulated EEE from metallic glasses (produced by a melt-spinning method) has been investigated. Measurements were performed in atmospheric air with exoelectrons being detected by means of an open-air point counter using an ethanol quenching vapour. The temperature dependence of the EEE intensity display peaks corresponded to structural transformations in the surface layers of various types of glass. The results of systematic EEE investigations regarding various types of metallic glasses together with DTA measurements clearly showed the possibility of detecting a premature crystallization of surface layers of the investigated materials as well as the effect of chemical composition, surface and temperature treatments and the manufacturing procedure on the crystallization kinetics of the surface layers of amorphous ribbons. Keywords
