Abstract
For pt.I see ibid., vol.12, p.1091-9 (1979). An analysis is presented of the errors in total reflection time domain spectroscopy and expressions derived which allow estimates to be calculated for the random errors in the results of each experiment. A simulation method is also described which allows estimates to be made of the level of the unwanted reflection errors. In addition, the aliasing and leakage errors inherent in the use of the discrete Fourier transform are analysed. Although aliasing was found not to be a serious problem in practice, it was concluded that leakage could be if the proper precautions were not taken. Keywords
