Abstract
The interaction of oncogenesis and the immune functions serves as a basis for this review. With the increasing therapeutic use of immunosuppressive drugs, one must remain aware of the potential development of tumors. This paper discusses the interactions of immunosuppression with virus- and carcinogen-induced tumors, as well as transplanted, spontaneous, and established tumors in animals and in man. A brief review of mechanisms of oncogenesis is also presented. Keywords
