Abstract
A system is described for the analysis of doped cadmium mercury telluride in which a graphite rod electrothermal vaporisation device is employed for introduction of microlitre samples of solution, after desolvation, into an argon radiofrequency inductively coupled plasma source (ICP) for atomisation and for optical emission spectrometry (ICP–OES). Results for eleven dopants are presented and a comparison is made between the ICP–OES results and those obtained by electrothermal atomic-absorption spectrometry.
