Abstract
The type material of the nominal species-group taxa of Australian Pyrgomorphidae was examined and lectotypes and one neotype designated as required. Comprehensive information on the primary types is given, including the results of comparisons with published descriptions and figures, usually also with selected topotypic or near-topotypic specimens in the Australian National Insect Collection, and often with other types. Provisional conclusions on synonymy are summarized in a synonymic list and a provisional classification of the 22 species accepted as valid.
