Abstract
The NMR spectra of pulvinic acids show large differences in the chemical shifts of the 2,6 and 2′, 6′ aromatic protons. This allows an unambiguous differentiation between the two possible isomers of unsymmetrically substituted pulvinic acids. Xerocomic acid, isoxerocomic acid and gomphidic acid have been shown to possess structures 1 a, 1 b and 2 a respectively. Keywords
