A Simple Method for Protecting Breast Implants during Insertion

Abstract
A method is presented that helps avoid iatrogenic injury to saline inflatable implants. Deep sutures placed prior to implant insertion and inflation afford protection to the silicone shell during tissue closure, and more rapid closure is facilitated by the added protection of overlying soft tissue. This technique should help greatly to minimize the distressing problem of damaged prostheses.
