Effect of Chemisorbed Water on the Magnetic Quenching of Orthopositronium in Silicon Dioxide Powders

Abstract
Positron-annihilation angular-correlation measurements have been made on compressed pellets of powdered Si. The results show an anomolously strong magnetic quenching of orthopositronium which disappears with the removal of chemisorbed water.
