Positivity Conditions for Velocity-Dependent and Quadratic Spin-Orbit Potentials

Abstract
It is proved that if velocity-dependent and/or quadratic spin-orbit potentials are present, they must satisfy very restrictive positivity conditions; otherwise the many-body Hamiltonian has a spectrum that is not bounded below. These conditions are not fulfilled by several currently available nuclear potentials.Keywords
