Abstract
A systematic general treatment of the basic dynamical properties of classical brane (i.e. submanifold supported) models is presented in a fully covariant approach based on the use of embedding supported background tensors. A specific illustration is provided by the special case of the nondispersive (integrable) string model. Keywords
