Abstract
Theory and results are given for the polarizability of the nitrogen molecule using the method introduced by Pople and Schofield. Previous work in the application of the method to atoms is discussed and it is shown shown that the method can be easily extended to provide polarization potentials of the Temkin type. Keywords
