Abstract
The Schrodinger equation is set up for the hydrogen atom using spheroidal coordinates with the nucleus at one focus, and it is solved as completely as possible. An expression is obtained for the wave function in a general excited state, and orthogonality properties are proved. Relations are investigated between spheroidal, spherical polar and parabolic wave functions. Keywords
