Electrochemical properties of a new glass‐electrode containing beryllium oxide

Abstract
A glass containing 73 mol % SiO2, 6 mol % BeO and 21 mol % K2O has been made and used as a glass‐electrode. This electrode responds rather well to potassium‐ and sodium‐ions, but not to calcium‐ions, and has a rather poor response to hydrogen‐ions.
