Abstract
The Raney nickel desulfurization reaction is an excellent method to obtain thiophene-free benzene. In a typical expt. 100 mg. of benzene containing 1% thiophene was refluxed with 10 gm. of Raney nickel. After 15 mins. a benzene sample no longer gave the isatin-sulfuric acid color test for thiophene. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
