Abstract
The fully quantum mechanical statistical multistep direct theory of Feshbach, Kerman, and Koonin is used to calculate the analyzing powers of the reaction at 65 MeV to the continuum. The overall behavior of the analyzing powers and differential cross sections as a function of energy and angle is reasonably described by the theory and the relative contributions of the single and multistep processes are evaluated.
