Abstract
Aspects of the theory of group representations relevant to the Sakata and octet models of elementary particles are discussed. The properties of the reduction coefficients, which in these theories take the place of the vector-coupling coefficients associated with isobaric spin, are enunciated. The isoscalar factors of these coefficients are tabulated for certain physically significant representations of U(3) and SU(3).Keywords
