Abstract
Seven cases of post-tuberculous meningitis with associated deafness are reported. The reported sequelae of tuberculous meningitis including the 7 cases under study indicate that in this disease residua other than deafness are likely to be present. Among these are neuro-muscular involvements, endocrine disturbances, aphasia, and perceptual problems associated with brain damage. The cases under study were contracted during the period in which streptomycin and other antibiotics were being used in heavy dosages in the treatment of this disease without an awareness of the toxic effect on the auditory nerve. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
