Abstract
Tandem mass spectrometry coupled to liquid chromatography (LC-MS/MS) allows identification of proteins in a complex mixture without need for protein purification (“shotgun” proteomics). Recent progress in LC-MS/MS-based quantification, phosphoproteomic analysis, and targeted LC-MS/MS using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) has made LC-MS/MS a powerful tool for the study of cell physiology.Keywords
