Abstract
The use of electrical transmission lines constructed from lumped components provides an opportunity for students to make detailed measurements of standing and traveling waves which would not be possible with the mechanical spring–mass–pendulum systems commonly used in lecture demonstrations. Four simple electrical lines are described which provide two examples of waves which travel with dispersion and two examples of waves which do not travel. Keywords
