Abstract
The milling of rice subjects it to attack by several spp. of insects which do not attack it in the rough. Paper bags are more effective than burlap bags in controlling insects in milled rice while in storage. The stitching of the bags in closing allows the entrance of some spp. of insects; this may be prevented by taping the seams; a better method of closing is the application of metal strips clamped and clinched over the ends.
