Abstract
TODAY, the most common clinical problems facing the physician are those of the chronically ill patient. The complexity and the chronicity of these problems create a special challenge for the medical profession. The programs of management that must be evolved for them demand frames of reference that are specific for chronic illness and are different from those applied to problems involving acute illness. We propose to discuss a program of care that we are at present employing for the management of patients with chronic illness. The basis for the program and its details has developed out of our clinical experience . . .Keywords
