Abstract
The dissociation energies of D2 + and H2 + are computed by a variation perturbation method for all bound 1sσg and 2pσu states and for J ⩽ 8> and J ⩽ 5>, respectively, and for the highest (v = 21 and 22) levels of HD+. The metastable states located between the two dissociation limits of HD+ are investigated with the aid of the lifetime matrix formalism. Four such states are found, one for each J ⩽ 3>. A comparison of the present results with those obtained by other methods is briefly discussed. Keywords
