Abstract
99mTc hydroxymethylene diphosphonate (Tc-HMDP) was compared with the 2 other diphosphonates (Tc-MDP [methylene diphosphonate] and Tc-HEDP [(1-hydroxyethylidene) diphosphonate]) and 99mTc pyrophosphate (Tc-PPi) in a canine model of acute myocardial infarction. The Tc-HMDP showed higher uptake in infarcted myocardium than the other 2 diphosphonates and uptake equivalent to that of Tc-PPi.
