Abstract
A very simple flat display device is presented for data information systems. This device has a self-scanning function achieved through a dc gas-discharge. The display panel for this device consists of two glass plates; anodes are formed on one plate and a black film and cathodes on the other. The anodes and cathodes are perpendicular to each other and are separated by the barriers formed in parallel between the anodes. All fabrication steps are performed by using screen-printing technology. The cathodes are connected to 32 busses and a time serial 32-phase pulse voltage is applied. Conversely, continuous scan and display pulse voltages are applied for a self-scanning operation and an information dispaly, respectively, to each anode. Keywords
