Effect of Non-toxic Concentrations of Acriflavine on Unscheduled DNA-synthesis and Survival of Synchronized HeLa Cells Exposed to Ultra-violet Light

Abstract
Non-toxic concentrations (3 × 10−6 M) of acrifavine depress the unscheduled DNA-synthesis in G1 HeLa cells at low ultra-violet (u.v.) doses (< 50 ergs/mm2), but not at higher doses. Moreover, these drug concentrations have little effect on survival at u.v. doses where the depression of unscheduled DNA-synthesis is greatest.
