Abstract
A simple formalism based on path integrals is applied for calculating two-particle intracollisional correlation functions in the semiclassical limit. The parameter-free spectral line model obtained in this way is compared with an exact quantum line shape calculation for collision-induced absorption of the Ne–Ar system at 300 K. Close agreement between model and exact line shape is obtained. Keywords
