Perfusion of the Isolated Prostatio Circulation with Radioactive Phosphorus (p 32 )

Abstract
The question whether the prostate gland of the dog picks up P32 if the latter is injected into an extracorporeal circuit consisting of the prostatic circulation and a motor pump system was studied. Prostatic perfusion with P32 produced no side effects. Higher uptakes of P32 by the prostate than by other viscera were obtained. Oxygenation increased the uptake of P32 by the dog''s prostate. The inorganic forms of P yielded more satisfactory results than the organic forms. Among the organic forms sodium-2-glycerophosphate-p32 was the only one which could be successfully employed.
