Abstract
Photoelectric measurements of the solar K -line in 1951 and 1953, with improved equipment, confirm the conclusion of a previous paper that absorption in the violet wing, corresponding to particles approaching with speeds between 750–1150 km/sec, does not exceed one-half per cent at any time following moderately intense flares. There is also little evidence of absorption of this magnitude associated with sequences of recurrent geomagnetic storms.
