Generation of simultaneous four wavelength optical pulses is successfully demonstrated using a novel multiwavelength mode-locked Er3+-doped fibere ring laser with two, 45° concatenated, Birefringent fibres in the cavity Wavelength separations of 0.9–2.7 nm and pulse durations of 28–55 ps are obtained.
